Peer Education

The following like-minded youth groups of Mthatha, whose objectives is to instill character based sex education through abstinence and behavioral change, wanted to host Youth Conference on the 14-15 July 2011. The conference objective was to engage the youth in a youth- to- youth dialogue on issues that affect them , e.g. teenage pregnancy, substances abuse, child pornography, crime , violence, forced marriages, inter-generational sex, etc.

In preparation for the conference, the youth wanted like to host a few build-up events in order to raise funds for the conference as they had to provide accommodation and meals for the youth that came from rural communities outside Mthatha. The first fundraising drive in the form of a talent show was held at Civic Centre on the 14 July 2011.
